The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $220,000 per year. However, if you possess additional valuable skill sets that could benefit the enterprise, you may be eligible for higher compensation. We encourage strong technical candidates to apply without hesitation.
Seeking a Linux Kernel internals Engineer who is involved with GITHUB community by contributing to it by Upstreaming. Storage expertise would be ideal. The engineer will need expertise in writing Filesystems not just interacting with them. Seeking expertise in Copy on Write.
Description
- Design, develop, test and support code
- Interact with remote users to diagnose/debug issues
- Interact with open-source communities (Linux, FreeBSD, OpenZFS, etc.)
- Weekly status reports
- Attending OS team and related meetings
Requirements
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Able to create elegant, efficient, and testable code
- Proven C language skills
- Solid understanding of UNIX / Linux Operating Systems (processes, memory, filesystem, networking)
- Solid understanding of asynchronous and parallel programming
- Solid understanding of sharing protocols (NFS, iSCSI, SMB)
- Experience with Linux kernel
- GitHub and Jira experience
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Someone who has upstreamed code or is engaged in the Open Source Community/Project
- Copy-on-write file system basic knowledge (ZFS)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is ideal
- At least 5 years of experience in the software development industry
