Position: Outpatient Auditor
Location: Remote
Salary: $33.00 /Hr
SUMMARY
Review medical records and clinical documentation for accurate code assignment from outpatient medical records in accordance to official coding guidelines. Review patient encounters for accurate code assignment of all relevant diagnosis, modifiers and CPT procedures. Provide feedback and recommendations on appropriate code assignment by providing detailed feedback and associated supporting references. Provide education regarding audit findings.
Perform daily quality audits, review medical record, ensure accurate coding based on Federal/State regulation, compliance with current industry standards (ICD 10 Guideline/Coding Clinic/CPT Assistant), and additionally ensure codes are clinically supported by diagnostic studies in the medical record.
Individually report quality audits for each Provider and/or coder.
Perform both Individual and Group Provider and/or Coder Education
Daily review of physician queries for multiple coders and multiple sites. Education and direction on each physician query as needed prior to posting to the hospital site.
Perform additional daily audit request from the individual sites, including but not limited to, third party insurance recovery, coding denials.
Answer coding questions for several coders daily.
Communicate directly with site coding management, physicians, clients, coders.
Communicate directly with Providers and Coders.
Daily communication with *** Management
Performs daily billable external audits, review medical record, ensure accurate coding based on Federal/State regulation, compliance with current industry standards (ICD 10 Guideline/Coding Clinic/CPT Assistant), additionally ensure codes are clinically supported by diagnostic studies in the medical record.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years experience auditing medical records for outpatient
3 years or more of outpatient medical coding experience
Epic / 3M experience
AAPC or AHIMA certification is preferred
